Acceptable use policy

What the service may not be used for. It forms part of the terms of service, and the recording rules are the ones with real legal weight behind them.

Recording rules

These are the rules we will enforce, because breaking them causes real harm to real people.

  • Do not record a conversation you have no legal right to record.
  • Do not use the service to record someone who has asked not to be recorded. If they ask mid-call, stop.
  • Do not attempt to obscure the notetaker’s presence, including by renaming it to something misleading.
  • Do not record in contexts where recording is prohibited outright, such as some legal, medical and educational settings, without the specific authorisation those settings require.

What you may not use the service for

  • Anything illegal where you are, or where the people in the meeting are.
  • Harassment, stalking, or building a record of someone who has asked you to stop.
  • Circumventing a meeting platform’s technical or contractual restrictions, including the restrictions Microsoft placed on third-party recording bots.
  • Processing data you are not permitted to disclose to a processor, including data subject to legal privilege or an export restriction you have not cleared.
  • Probing, scanning or load-testing the service outside a good-faith vulnerability disclosure, or attempting to access another workspace’s data.
  • Reselling access, or using the service to build a competing product, without an agreement.

Automated and agent behaviour

Agents draft and schedule; a person approves. Do not attempt to remove the approval step, and do not use agent output to send bulk unsolicited email. When the API exists, the same rules apply to whatever you build on it.

Fair use

Paid plans do not cap meeting hours, which relies on people using the service the way it is meant to be used. Leaving a bot in an empty room continuously, or recording a permanently open channel, is not a meeting. We will contact you before we do anything about it.

Reporting abuse

If you believe NeurTask was used to record you without your consent, email privacy@neurtask.com. We will identify the customer responsible, require them to answer, and act on the account if they do not. We cannot delete their recording on your behalf without their instruction, but we can and will stop the behaviour continuing.

Enforcement

Where we can, we ask first. Serious or repeated breaches lead to suspension and then termination without refund. Anything that puts the service or other customers at risk is acted on immediately, and we tell you why afterwards unless the law prevents it.

Report a breach of this policy: hello@neurtask.com. All documents are listed on the legal index.
